General Description

Scripps Clinic Medical Group, Division of Hematology Oncology is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care for oncology patients at Scripps Cancer Center.

 

The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will interact with a large multi-disciplinary group including physicians, pharmacists, social work, nurse navigators, clinic and infusion nurses, and trainees (fellows and residents). Candidates must be well organized, eager to learn, have excellent communication skills and have a passion for providing exceptional patient care.  

 

The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will work closely with and is supervised by a SCMG medical oncologist specializing in the care of patients with advanced skin, head and neck, and thyroid cancers. The position requires a current California NP medical license.  Oncology experience preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess cancer patients independently and in collaboration with the oncologist.

 

  • Manage acute and chronic oncologic and immunotherapy-related conditions.

 

  • Perform routine clinic history and physicals of established patients.

 

  • Order laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic procedures and treatments to patients.

 

  • Assist supervising physician & care team with triage of established patients.

 

 

 

 

Practice Setting

Outpatient care of oncology patients with emphasis on advanced skin, head and neck, and thyroid cancers. This position is weekdays with no weekends or after-hours call responsibilities. Full benefits.

Compensation:

In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, Scripps Clinic Medical Group posts the pay range for our open positions. Please note that actual pay will be

determined based on relevant experience within the pay range. Scripps Clinic Medical

Group strives to ensure that our employees receive equal pay for equal work in line with our commitment to being an equal opportunity employer. Base salary based on experience: $130,000-$134,973.
